East Hampton

A 45-pound pumpkin and a decorative Halloween skeleton were stolen from the front porch of a Gann Road house sometime between Friday and Sunday afternoons. Lynn Mendelman had paid a dollar a pound for the pumpkin, and valued the skeleton at $10.

East Hampton Village

Police responded to a report of an erratic driver in a new 2017 Bentley on Georgica Beach Friday afternoon. The Bentley Bentayga, which retails for about $230,000, which was being driven by Omar Y. Alghanim was stuck in wet sand near the west jetty. Mr. Alghanim, 44, denied driving erratically, police said. He told police the car belonged to his parents, and that it needed a tow. He was given a list of tow companies to call, as well as a ticket for driving on the beach without a permit.

Police went to the train station on the afternoon of Oct. 23 after a caller told them that a heavyset man had urinated next to a bench there. An officer located the man and warned him that he would be arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct if it happened again.

A dog running loose in the road on Lumber Avenue was caught by an officer on the afternoon of Oct. 24. The canine’s owner and the dog were soon reunited.

Montauk

A Manhattan man, Andre Michael Konig, walked into the police substation Sunday morning to report the theft of a 20-horsepower Mercury outboard from his dinghy, which he had left unattended on the beach at South Lake Drive on Oct. 8. He valued the motor at $1,000, and had discovered its theft Saturday morning.

Night Stars Laser landscape lighting in front of Maria Sanchez’s Duryea Avenue residence was stolen sometime between the afternoon of Oct. 24 and last Thursday. She said replacing it would cost $80. 

Beth Pollack of Montauk and Brooklyn told police on Oct. 22 that someone had entered her house on Tuthill Road at some point in October. She said that when she arrived a little after noon Oct. 22, she found “the shower door open, a used towel hanging on her bedroom door, decorative bedspreads placed on two beds, and her toothbrush showing signs of being used.” Nothing was reported stolen.

Sag Harbor

Police were called to Murf’s Backstreet Tavern on Division Street a little after midnight on Oct. 23. Robert Deery told police that two highly intoxicated customers had refused to leave. However, when police arrived, Mr. Deery and the men were standing outside. The officer said the customers were belligerent, while Mr. Deery said one of them had smashed a small window over the entrance. He agreed not to press charges if they would pay for the damage. They did.

A man described as a white male, whose identity was not released, hurled coffee at a group of Latino men on the morning of Oct. 24 on Long Island Avenue opposite 7-Eleven. Police caught up with him on Main Street but no charges were filed after he told police he had felt threatened. Police reported telling him it was “not appropriate to throw coffee at someone,” and that next time he felt threatened, he should dial 911. He was not charged and his name was withheld.

Springs

Someone cut the cord of a baby monitor on a mantel in a 19th Street house on Oct. 23 or 24. Jessica Morocho-Morocho gave police the name of the person she suspected, but agreed not to press charges if the monitor was repaired or replaced. The $250 required to do so was paid by the suspect, whose name was not released because there were no charges.
