Entered a House He Was Ordered Not To

Thu, 10/07/2021 - 06:29

Sag Harbor police reported the Sept. 27 arrest of Ryan A. Knowles of New York City on a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court. Mr. Knowles, 45, had entered a house he had been ordered not to, and was in a bedroom when police arrived. He was given a future date to appear in the village court.

In East Hampton Town, a felony contempt charge was brought last Thursday against Jorge Pullataxi Saldana, 32, for allegedly violating an order of protection. Mr. Pullataxi's wife, Jennifer Saldana Reyes of East Hampton, had phoned Suffolk County police, which issued a warrant for the man's arrest. Town police found him outside his residence on Oakview Highway in East Hampton, arrested him, and took him to court, where he was arraigned by Justice Steven Tekulsky. County officers eventually came and took Mr. Pullataxi away.

Town police have also released a report on a Sept. 15 felony contempt charge against Sergio Salazar Dominguez, 39, who, they said, should not have been at a Boatheader's Lane apartment that afternoon, much less thrown a propane tank through a window. Police said the damage might run $290 to fix. Justice Tekulsky released Mr. Salazar on $3,000 cash bail.

In a Sept. 22 confrontation at Ruschmeyer's Inn on Second House Road in Montauk, Alexander J. Vavas of Centereach punched Christopher Montalbano in the jaw, according to a police report, and then grabbed him around the neck, forcing him to the ground. Mr. Vavas was arraigned before Justice Tekulsky on a harassment charge and released to await a future court date.
