Kathryn Frances McGuirk, who worked for many years in the nurse’s office at East Hampton Middle School, died at home on the corner of Newtown Lane and McGuirk Street in East Hampton on Oct. 2 after a brief illness. She was 87.

Mr. Gasman, who died of complications following respiratory failure on Saturday at the age of 76, had a career that ranged from Catskills comedy to stages in New York, Houston, and London just last year.

Beautiful, elegant, fiercely loyal to family and friends,” and “whip smart,” Heather Kilpatrick, who died at home in Sag Harbor on Sept. 20 at the age of 72, had a distinguished 35-year career in publishing law, first as attorney for Time magazine during the Watergate scandal and later as counsel for Doubleday and Company, Random House, and Time Warner’s book division.

A funeral for Richard C. Wilson Sr. of East Hampton will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on James Lane. Mr. Wilson, who was 78, died on Sunday

Janet T. Sellers loved anything she could do outdoors, from gardening, swimming, kayaking, water-skiing, and whitewater rafting in the warmer months to horseback riding, hiking, skiing, and ice-skating in the cooler ones.

Winifred Irene McKinney of Indialantic, Fla., who had led a peripatetic life  living abroad as a stewardess and traveling, died on Aug. 6 at an assisted living facility in Florida. She was 95 and had been in good health until the last year and a half.

Ms. McKinney was known to her friends in Montauk as Wini. She came to Montauk in the 1970s after her brother, Roy Norman, built the Port Royal Hotel and Shipwreck restaurant. She lived there till 1995, when she moved to Florida.

Ruth Nasca, a painter whose work was exhibited in at least 50 solo shows, died on Oct. 4 at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson. She was 89 and had been ill for five months after having a stroke. She had lived in the same East Hampton house since 1988.

Eileen Bock of Montauk, who once had been executive director of the hamlet’s senior nutrition program, died on Monday at the Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 82. Ms. Bock was cremated and her ashes are to be buried at Fort Hill Cemetery in Montauk. An obituary will appear in a future issue.

Jo Carney of East Hampton, whose talents as a writer and performer enriched the culture of the East End for more than four decades, died on Sept. 27 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue.

Robert McKinny Barnes, an architect and longtime resident of eastern Long Island, died on Sept. 30 after returning from a trip to Italy and France. He was 68. He collapsed while exercising at a gym in New York City and was rushed to New York Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead of an apparent heart attack. A funeral for him was held on Saturday, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in East Hampton.

Visiting hours for Carol Macdonald Nye of Montauk will be held on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Montauk Community Church, with burial following at Fort Hill Cemetery. 

Mrs. Nye died on Thursday. A full obituary will appear in a future issue.

Robert M. Barnes Jr. of Barnes Coy Architects died in Manhattan on Sunday of an apparent heart attack. He was 68.

Elizabeth Montague Ruth of Springs died on Sunday at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. She was 76 and had had cancer for a year.

Winifred McKinney died on Aug. 6 at the age of 95.

Harry Eugene Minetree, a college professor, journalist, and writer of magazine articles and documentary films, some of which he produced, died on Sept. 17 in an assisted living facility in Glendale, Calif. He was 83 and had been in poor health for about a year.

Bernadette Sullivan Costanzo of Montauk, the owner of the former Montauk Beach Store on Main Street, died of a stroke on Sept. 25 at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks.

Louis J. Vilardi of Montauk, a piano tuner whose clients ranged from local schools to high-profile residents such as Chevy Chase, died of cancer on Sept. 11 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue.

Barbara Elizabeth Brewer Person of Bridgehampton, who played piano and organ for services and choirs at a number of churches on the South Fork and in California from 1949 to 2018, died on Aug. 31, at Park Avenue Extended Care in Long Beach.

Carlos M. Dobryn of Montauk died at his home there on Aug. 21. He was 82 and had been in good health until about five months ago.

Debra Scott, a journalist and author who had careers in public relations, marketing, and real estate among many other positions, died at home in Springs on Sept. 10 at the age of 65. She had been undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer for 18 months.

Nathan C. Bennett Sr., a longtime landscaper for the local Whitmore firm who enjoyed fishing on Gardiner’s Bay, working on the engines of cars and trucks, and spending time with friends at the Three Mile Harbor commercial dock on Gann Road, died of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and surgery on Sept. 12 in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was 82.

Dawson Drew Giles, who moved to Florida after graduating from Pierson High School in Sag Harbor in 1973, died on Aug. 31 at Steward Hospital in Melbourne, Fla., after a long illness. He was 63.

Mr. Furlaud, who had been in good health until this summer, died on Monday at home in East Hampton surrounded by his family. He was 95. A resident of Palm Beach, Fla., he had summered in East Hampton for 50 years.

Juan Chitarroni, who grew up in Buenos Aires but lived on the East End for 50 years, died on Sunday at the age of 74.

Elean Quackenbush, a lifelong resident of East Hampton, died of lung cancer on Aug. 14 at her house in Springs overlooking Three Mile Harbor. She was 72.

Guy Cimbalo of Sea Cliff and Springs, who had a long career in advertising and the theater, died at his Springs home on Aug. 24 of congestive heart failure. Mr. Cimbalo was not one to share his age, and his family respected his wishes.

Laura Mueller, who lived for many years in Montauk with her late husband, Dr. George Mueller, died on Aug. 20 while under hospice care in Greenwood, S.C., after having taken a fall. She was 88.

Evelyn Goldberg, who died on Sept. 5 at her home in North Bellmore, was buried on Friday at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont. A former Montauk summer resident, she was 91 and had dementia for nine years.

Cecilia Roxbury Rarrick died on July 1 at her house in East Hampton.
