Jazz Times Two
Jacques Schwarz-Bart is a French jazz saxophonist who is responsible for creating two new styles: Gwoka Jazz and Voodoo Jazz, which reunite jazz music with its Afro-Caribbean and spiritual origins.

Thanks to Hamptons Jazz Fest, music enthusiasts will have two opportunities this week to see Mr. Schwartz-Bart in concert with his Afro-Caribbean Futuristic Jazz Quintet: Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at The Church in Sag Harbor, and Friday at 6 p.m. outdoors at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill.

A recording artist with seven albums to his credit, Mr. Schwartz-Bart has collaborated with Roy Hargrove, Danilo Pérez, John Scofield, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, John Legend, and many others.

Tickets for the show at The Church are $20, free for those 15 and under. Parrish tickets are $15, $5 for members and students.

Feline Friends
Cat lovers will want to head to the Southampton Arts Center on Sunday for an outdoor screening of "Cat Daddies," an award-winning documentary by Mye Hoang. Presented in collaboration with Hamptons Doc Fest, the film is a portrait of men whose lives have been changed by their love of cats.

The subjects include a group of firefighters, a stunt man, a truck driver, a homeless man, a tech worker, a teacher, and an actor, some of whom struggle, with their pets, to cope with the events of 2020.

The grounds will open at 7 p.m. and the film will start at dusk. The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons will be on hand until 8 with an adoption van full of kittens and cats. Donations of unopened cat food will be welcomed.

Tickets are $15, $5 for children under 12, and free for members.

Big Band Bash
Swingtime Big Band, a Long Island-based group of 20 jazz musicians steeped in the music of the Big Band era, will perform in the parking lot of the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton Thursday at 7 p.m..

The band features a female vocalist, Bobbie Ruth, who creates the stylings of such singers as Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday. The musicians include accomplished soloists who have played with Lionel Hampton, Billy Eckstine, Sammy Davis Jr., Count Basie, and others. Dancing will be welcomed.

Registration is required. In the event of rain, the concert will take place inside.

A Parent's Grief
"A Father's Kaddish," a documentary about a father's use of pottery to help him work through his grief after the death of his 23-year-old son, will have its East End premiere Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons in East Hampton.

A week after his son's death from brain cancer, Steven Branfman, a potter and teacher, went into his studio, took up some clay, and made a chawan, a Japanese-style tea bowl. He went on to make one chawan every day for a year, which was his personal kaddish, the traditional Jewish prayer of mourning.

Mr. Branfman and Jen Kaplan, the film's director, will speak after the film. Tickets are $25, $20 for members.

Disco Night
The Clubhouse in East Hampton will host a Roosevelt D.J. set on Saturday starting at 9 p.m. The venue promises a Studio 54-inspired experience, complete with dancers, disco balls, glitter, and a few surprises.

Roosevelt, a.k.a. Marius Lauber, is a producer, D.J., songwriter, and electronic musician from Germany. According to Interview magazine, he "has a knack for music that calls people to the dance floor."

Reserved seating for two, including one bottle of Champagne and full table service, is $250. The tariff rises depending on the size of the party.
