Bridgehampton High School’s boys basketball team went into Friday’s state Class D semifinal with perhaps more confidence than it should have, for Loudonville Christian proved to be a formidable foe, overcoming seemingly comfortable Bee leads on several occasions before yielding in the end, 63-53.

Amagansett Principal Cleared of All Charges and Reinstated

A hearing officer assigned by the New York State Education Department to determine whether disciplinary charges should be brought against Maria Dorr, who was placed on paid leave in January of last year after being accused of stealing a $25 gift card, has found Ms. Dorr not guilty and ordered the district to reinstate her as principal and expunge the charges from her personnel record. 

Clear Victories for LaLota, Schiavoni, Palumbo

Incumbent Representative Nick LaLota, a Republican, appears to have easily defeated his Democratic challenger, John Avlon, to be re-elected to a second term. For State Senate here, Republican Anthony Palumbo prevailed over his challenger, Sarah Anker. And Tommy John Schiavoni, a Democrat, was the winner in the race to replace retiring State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr.
