Artists and Writers Dinner
The Artists and Writers dinner series will return to Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with Ian Swordy, an artist and writer based in New York City.
"Ian Swordy: Direct Carving at Duck Creek," an outdoor exhibition of his recent marble sculptures, has been installed at the Arts Center at Duck Creek in Springs and will be open to visitors from dawn to dusk through Spring 2025.
A three-course family-style meal will be served with one glass of wine or draft beer for $59, including gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the restaurant at 631-537-5665 or at bit.ly/4fT1syr.
Hunters and Farmers Feast
Jason Weiner of Almond restaurant will be one of the featured chefs at the Hunters and Farmers Feast at Sagaponack Farm Distillery on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The event will be hosted in collaboration with Andrew Mahoney, Jack Formica, and the Foster Farm. The evening will feature six dishes featuring local fish, shellfish, beef, venison, vegetables from the farm, and local cheese, bread, and a wild foraged dessert. Marilee and Dean Foster will be pouring whiskey samples.
Tickets are $175 and include the dinner, a signature cocktail, and winter beer from Springs Brewery. Non-alcoholic options will be available.
News From Arthur and Sons
Arthur and Sons in Bridgehampton will serve happy hour at the bar only and a prix fixe menu every Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. However, readers had better hurry up. After the print edition of The Star went to press, the restaurant announced that it is closing for the season on Sunday and planning to reopen on May 1.
Among the appetizers on the prix fixe menu are Caesar salad, meatballs, fried calamari, and fried mozzarella. The long list of entrees includes chicken piccata, chicken Marsala, chicken Francese, spicy rigatoni, and fusilli Bolognese. Dessert is either a mini cannoli plate or a gelato al cioccolato cup. The price is $39.95; there are a couple of optional add-ons.
Happy hour features half-priced appetizers, $10 glasses of house wine, $12 well cocktails, and $6 draft beer at the bar.
Brunch Pop-Up
Art of Eating will have its food truck at 264 Butter Lane in Bridgehampton Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a brunch pop-up. Among the offerings are a breakfast burrito, classic chilaquiles, Oaxaca cheese and roasted poblano quesadilla, posole, squash and goat cheese empanada, churros with two sauces, Mexican hot chocolate, and more. Cups of warm cider are on the house.
