Samuelsson and Rockwell
Guild Hall’s Stirring the Pot series of culinary conversations will conclude on Sunday at 11 with two powerhouses, Marcus Samuelsson and David Rockwell, in conversation with Florence Fabricant, the New York Times food and wine writer.
Born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, Mr. Samuelsson burst onto the New York restaurant scene in 1995 as the executive chef at Aquavit restaurant, where he became the youngest ever to receive a three-star review from The New York Times. Among the 15 restaurants in his portfolio, Metropolis, his most recent, was designed by Mr. Rockwell, an acclaimed architect and designer.
Tickets are $35, $31.50 for members. A free breakfast from Citarella will be on offer at 10.
News From Marram
Mostrador Marram, a beachfront counter service cafe at the Marram hotel in Montauk, is now offering cocktails canned in-house, including margaritas, mojitos, Aperol spritzes, and palomas, as well as nonalcoholic grapefruit and orange sodas.
The venue has also announced a new happy hour, during which a variety of snacks and drinks can be enjoyed on the hotel’s beachside pool deck. Available on Fridays and Saturdays through Labor Day, reservations can be made for a two-hour private table for $130 per person.
Raw Market
Spring Close Farm in East Hampton has teamed up with In the Raw, makers of natural sweeteners, for the Raw Market, where people will be able to buy baked goods made with In the Raw sweeteners, tomorrow through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Free iced coffee from Devocion Coffee will be offered all weekend.
Happy Hour at the Bistro
Village Bistro in East Hampton offers happy hour at the bar every day from 4 to 6. The menu includes chicken wings and prime rib dip that can be washed down with $10 margaritas and rose.
Small Bites
Christine Wong, an author and plant-based cook, will be at the Women’s Art Center of the Hamptons in Bridgehampton on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. In celebration of her new cookbook, “The Vibrant Hong Kong Table,” which is available for pre-order from Amazon, she will prepare light bites for visitors to enjoy in the gallery’s garden.
After closing for a week, Nosh in Amagansett has reopened with a slightly modified menu. The takeout spot’s menu includes things like ramen, poke bowls, and boba teas.
