Two Springs delis are getting new leases on life, with both being given opportunities to carry on although one is passing out of the family that founded it more than five decades ago.

An “angel buyer” is in contract to buy the Springs General Store, Kristi Hood, who runs the deli and catering business there, said this week. Ms. Hood was set to close up shop when her current lease expires in May, but said the purchasers, whom she did not name, would like her to stay.

Outeast Gallery on Tuthill Road in Montauk has been transformed for the holidays to a marketplace with a dozen vendors selling all types of gift items. Owned by Scott Pitches, the two-room gallery is wedged in between Whalebone Creative and Duryea’s Lobster House and looks out over Fort Pond Bay.

Regular clients of Manual and Sports Physical Therapy at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center will not notice a big change since Meghan Ryan Finazzo bought the business early in August. She had already been running it as an employee for two years when opportunity knocked and she answered by buying the business and renaming it Montauk Physical Therapy.

Ms. Finazzo was a longtime visitor to the hamlet. As a child, she spent summers at her grandparents’ mobile home at the oceanfront Montauk Shores condominiums. “I was very lucky as a kid,” she said.
