Cherries are a great snack and as part of a cheese platter, especially with tangy, mild goat cheeses. They are delicious in a chicken salad with almonds and green onions; brandied; folded into ice cream, and in the classic French dessert/pudding, clafoutis.

I compared it to Walter de Maria's art installation "The Lightning Field," in that it had to be experienced over a significant period of time to be truly understood and appreciated.
